⚡️We are pleased to share a new publication in the JACC:
Pulsatile Ventricular Assist Platform A Novel Surgically Implanted Ventricular Assist Device by Marcelo Bastos, Dr. Sara Knigge, Dr. Günes Dogan, Prof.Dr. J.D. Schmitto et all.

🔸 New Pulsatile Ventricular Assist Platform
🔸 This platform builds on the proven IVAC 2L technology
🔸 Driven by standard IABP console
🔸 Compatible with all available standard cannulas
🔸 Composed by a T-shaped splitter that is connected to an inflow cannula, an outflow cannula, and to the paracorporeal membrane pump.
🔸 The main findings indicate that the pVAP is feasible and effective for both LVAD and RVAD configurations.

In summary, the first experiments in porcine models with the pVAP demonstrated it is effective in improving hemodynamics intraoperatively. Its ease of use and customizable features have the potential to make it a flexible solution for high-risk cardiovascular procedures.

Special thanks to Prof. Dr. J. D. Schmitto, MD, PhD, MBA, FRCS(Glasg) FACS, Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Medizinische Hochschule Hannover and team.
