Regretful notification that Dr. Yoram Karmon, PhD- CEO & President has died
It is with deep sadness that we inform you about the passing of Dr. Yoram Karmon, PhD- CEO & President.
Dr. Yoram Karmon passed away unexpectedly by a septic shock on August, 2nd 2022. Dr. Yoram Karmon was 75 years old. He was the founder of PulseCath BV in 2007. The Board of Directors issued the following statement: “We are shocked and greatly saddened by the passing of Dr. Yoram Karmon. We will always remember his tireless efforts to make the company successful and continue the business according to his mission. We are forever grateful for his invaluable contribution.” We offer our sincere condolences to his family, who supported him every step of the way. Dr. Yoram Karmon, a creative entrepreneur with extensive experience in management at the senior level within premier biotechnology and medical device companies in Israel and Europe. Management experiences include the proven ability for effective leadership within privately held and publicly traded biotech and medical device companies, with demonstrated ability to lead highly motivated inventors and scientists to the development of commercial applications of novel ideas. Dr. Karmon was the CEO, President and Chairman of the Board of InterPharm Laboratories Ltd. (Nasdaq traded), which became the largest biotechnology company in Israel with exports of more than $US 100 million annually. Following the acquisition of InterPharm by the Ares-Serono Group, Switzerland, Dr. Karmon accepted the position of VP Operations of the group in Geneva for a few years before he returned to Israel to found Peptor Ltd. Dr. Karmon has raised more than US $90 million for companies under management and created exits for investors through deal making (licensing and M&A deals) with large pharmaceutical and peer companies.
Dr. Karmon holds a PhD. in Molecular Biology from The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, and was awarded the Haim Weizmann prize for Post Doctoral Fellowship for a postdoctoral term at the University of California in San Francisco, USA.
The Board of Directors appointed Mr. Oren Malchin, who has been with the company for nearly 15 years, including the past 10 years as its Vice President Marketing & Sales and Chief Operating Officer Officer as Chief Executive Officer. Oren Malchin joined PulseCath BV in 2008 from a Medical startup company “FlowAid” where he was VP Marketing and Sales for blood circulatory systems. In his position he headed the worldwide marketing and sales department. Before that Mr. Malchin served at “Disc-O-Tech” where he was VP Marketing and Sales for orthopedic implants for the spine and long bones. In his position he headed the marketing and sales department for Europe, South East Asia and Latin America. Mr. Malchin holds both a BBA & MBA in General Management, Business Administration, Global Marketing and Economy from “Northwood” University, Michigan US.
